Questions
Is this resume builder really free?
Yes. All four templates, every colour and the PDF download are free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Which resume format is best?
For most jobs, a reverse-chronological resume: your latest job first, then earlier ones, then education. The Classic template is the safest choice for government, banking and large companies; Modern looks fresher for private and IT jobs; Compact fits a long career on fewer pages.
Are these templates ATS-friendly?
Yes. The PDF contains real text (not an image) in a plain reading order, with standard headings like Work experience, Education and Skills, so applicant tracking systems used by job portals and company career sites can read it. The Classic and Compact templates are a single column, which every ATS handles well.
How long should a resume be?
One page for freshers and people with under five years of experience; two pages at most for longer careers. The preview shows how many pages yours runs to. If it spills over, try the Compact template, a smaller text size, or fewer points per job.
Should I add a photo to my resume?
In India many employers, and most government and teaching jobs, are used to a photo, so it’s up to you. Multinational companies and employers in the US, UK and Canada usually prefer no photo. The photo is optional here and is cropped to passport shape.
What is the difference between a CV and a resume?
In India the words are used for the same thing: a one- or two-page summary of your education, skills and work. Strictly, a CV is a longer academic record (publications, research, conferences). This builder makes the short version, which is what almost all job applications ask for.
Is my resume uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. The PDF is made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to Growny. Your draft is saved only in this browser so you can come back to it; save a backup file to move it to another device, and use ‘Start over’ to clear it.
